You Can Now Use Your Music As An Alarm With Alexa

Amazon has announced that Alexa’s most recent update includes support for custom, music alarms. Gone are the days of old fashion, boring alarms. Instead of telling Alexa to just set an alarm, you can set different songs, artists, or genres! And mixing up your alarm is beneficial anyway, because after too many days of hearing the same alarm, your brain starts to tune it out and it becomes less effective.

The update supports multiple different music services – Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, Sirius XM, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio to name a few. You can make a variety of different requests, spanning from specific to generic. For example, you can say “Alexa, wake me up at 8AM to Kanye West”, or “Alexa, wake me up at 7AM to Classic Rock” and they’ll both work.

The music alarm is available on any Alexa compatible device.
